Welcome to CBC Altoona!

You might be surprised by some of the things that you see on this web page.  Community Bible Church is not a typical / traditional kind of church.  We do things a little bit differently.   It is because we question everything.  We have been seeking out the word of God to see what He wants for His church.   As a result we have set aside many of the church traditions that have been handed down to us and instead we seek to follow the Word of God - Alone.

At the heart of all that we do are the Great Commandment...

Mark 12:28-31 ESV  And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the most important of all?" Jesus answered, "The most important is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'  The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

...And the Great Commission:

Matthew 28:18-20 ESV  And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Our goal is to seek the scriptures to find out how Christ wants to build His Church and to be obedient to the things we find in our search.  Click here to view a PDF document of how we do this.
