House-Churches
house_church_image

In the book of Acts and in the Epistles the first century church met in peopleīs homes. Except for a brief time where they met in the temple to pray, houses / homes seems to be the primary meeting place for the church. Add to that the fact that Jesus chose to work with a small group of twelve men. To build them up in Faith and to lay the foundation for the Church. And when you look at Godīs commands for the Church it makes sense to focus on having small churches that meet in homes.

For more information that answers the question "Why do we have House-Chruches?" click here to download a PDF paper answering that question.

House-Churches exsist as a place that promotes growth. It is a place where questions can be asked in a non-judgemental environment. It is a place where people can encourage each other in Faith. It is a place where concerns can be shared and prayers offered for the concerns. It is a place where people will offend and hurt each other and then learn how to forgive each other and how to confess wrongs. House-churches are a place where God can work as people can learn from each other.

Presently, there are several house-churches associated with Community Bible Church. The house-churches meet on Wednesday and Thursday nights. We hope to expand the number of house churches and meeting times. Whatever happens it will take place to serve the needs of people out of the relationship that we share with them.
